EASTMAN, GA

Gracie Lee West 95 of Eastman entered into eternal rest, May 11, 2017 after an extended illness. Mrs. West had lived in Dodge County for the past 13 years, prior to that she lived in Pompano Beach, FL Mrs. West was born in Eastman GA, July 2, 1921 to the late Richard and Louvenia Basley. Mrs. West was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Eastman. When she lived in Pompano Beach, FL she was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church where she served as a hostess in the Culinary Department and a church volunteer. She loved Fashion Shows, Clothing, Entertaining, Knitting, and Cross Word Puzzles. Put her on a Cruise Ship and she is on top of the world. She loved Cruises.

Mrs. West was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Moore; one grandson, Michael Maxwell; four brother, Robert, Stellman, Richard, and Neal Basley; two sisters, Jimmie Lee Basley and Louise Stuckey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. from the St Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Eastman on Saturday, May 20 with Rev. Arthur Gordon, III officiating, Rev. Milton Hughes the Eulogist, and the Pastor of the church, Rev. Victor Cooper. On Friday, May 19 the family will be receiving callers at the residence of her niece, Marilyn Barnes at 215 Edna Moore Road, Eastman, GA from 6 to 8 P.M. Connie Hilburn will be the hostess for the memorial roast on Friday. Flowers will be accepted at the residence or at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. West is survived by a host of grandchildren, host of great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
