DUBLIN, GA.

 Glenn Morton Windham, age 76, of Laurens County, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 after several years of extended illness. Mr. Windham was born in Dublin, GA to the late B.T. and Ina Morton Windham. He was a graduate of Lanier High School in Macon, GA. He attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran, GA. He served 12 years in the 560th Engineer Battalion of the Georgia National Guard and was a First Lieutenant at the end of his service. He served several years as a rural fireman in Laurens County. He was a member of White Springs Baptist Church in Laurens County. He was an entrepreneur most of his life. He and his wife owned and operated Windham Auto Parts, Inc. in Dublin, GA for 20 years. He enjoyed hobby farming in his younger years. In retirement he managed rental investment property and enjoyed another career for approximately 20 years as owner of a coin laundry known as Soap & Suds in Dublin, GA. His last known achievement was acting as the general contractor for a new dormitory and meeting hall of El Shaddai’s Refuge, Incorporated an addiction recovery ministry founded in 2015 in Laurens County. It was his vision to see this project completed. Although funding and his health did not allow him to see this completed, the ministry still maintains the goal to see this vision fulfilled. He was a devoted husband, and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

 Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Alice Mauldin Windham, of Dublin; daughter, Melaina Windham Allen (Michael) of Dublin, son, Jarrod Glenn Windham (Melonie) of Mount Vernon; granddaughters, Lauren Nation Thigpen (A.J.) of Rockledge, Micaiah Wynne Nation (Gary Young) of Dublin; grandsons, Ian Alexander Windham, Evan McLeod Windham of Mount Vernon; Drake Andrew Nation of Dublin. Step grandson, Austin David Allen of Dublin. Great-granddaughters, Katherine “Katy” Marie Thigpen of Rockledge; Kyla Faye Young and Emma Gabrielle Young of Dublin; and a great-grandson Buck Weston Thigpen of Rockledge. He is also survived by three sisters Judye Windham Blackburn (Jerry) of Hawkinsville, GA; Sandra Windham Barbour (William “Bill”) of Byron, GA; and Yonna Windham Shaw of Macon, GA. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will join the congregation of White Springs Baptist Church in worship on July 23 at 11:00 AM. At 12:00 noon a Celebration of Life Memorial for family and friends will be held followed by a lunch reception. White Springs Baptist Church is located on White Springs Church Road Glenwood, GA 30428. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the ministry efforts of El Shaddai’s Refuge, Inc. 301 East Jackson Street Dublin, GA 31021. El Shaddai’s Refuge is a Christian faith-based nonprofit addiction recovery ministry.
